The summer cinema of Stanica will, at the beginning, offer a movie by spanish director režiséra Pedro Almodóvar. Fourteen years ago, one man became a victim of a serious car accident, when he not only lost his sight, but also the woman of his life, Lena. This man has two names. The first one is Harry Caine – a pseudonym, which he uses for literary work. The second one is Mateo Blanco – his real name, with which he signs the movies, he makes. After the accident, Mateo becomes Harry. According to the fact, that he is no longer able to direct movies, he lets Mateo to die with the woman, he loved.

Almodóvar has the gift to film even the most stupid and profane topic with hyperbole, originality, style and gentility, so it´s stupid no more. Broken Embraces, as the title tells, is a story cut off of a soap opera, which is thanks to nifty directing, excellent acting and ingenious editing, elevated to a piece of art. Broken Embraces is shot in the style of noir movies from 50s. A gorgeous and colorful movie, amazing tribute to cinematography and the power of narrative.
