Hudba sveta Žilina: Banda, Michal Smetanka

In early spring we traditionally host world music festival Hudba sveta, which brings to Zilina diverse domestic and world music based in traditions. Michal Smetanka - musician, singer, lover and collector of musical instruments will perform his multi-instrumental art. Then the band Banda, which recently released the third album called Telegraphs, will take on its own version of the Slovak musical tradition. The band is a six-member vocal - instrumental group of professional musicians, mostly folklorists, who use rich vocals with respect for tradition and local peculiarities, but in a completely original form. Other festival events include the New Synagogue, Rosenfeld Palace and Smer Music Klub 77.

Andrej Petrovič: P / One of the Seven

Andrej Petrovič, a prominent dancer working with the world's most renowned choreographers, is returning home to work on a series of solo performances, each dealing with one deadly sin. All seven should result in the eighth performance. Pride is the first sin. As the outer eye, he invited Jaro Viňarský to the creative process within the residence that took place at Stanica in February. The performance is presented at the World Premiere.

Today, Easter eggs are mainly associated with gifting, although in the past they also had a sacrificial function. They symbolize the spring, the new stage, the rebirth. In addition, painting eggs is also incredibly relaxing. Lecturer Jolana Madigárová Kubišová will teach you wax painting, which is one of the most traditional techniques of folk decoration of Easter eggs. Aiming at the local community of spoken word artists, the first part of the event will explore different ways to work with the space and to connect with the audience, bringing our poetic creations to life and setting up a special piece by each poet to be performed during the evening showcase. Interactive playful performance for four dancers, one musician, kids and a thousand sheets of paper. The adventures of discovering space, movement, boundless inspiration and pure joy through seemingly ordinary things like a piece of paper. The dance show will be followed by a movement workshop. Through the paper game, participants will learn movement principles such as movement around space, balance, speed of movement, but also collaboration in pair and group. The event is suitable for children from 5 to 12 years old.

Tanzwerke Vaněk Preuss: Nostalgiáda

Czech-Slovak-German retro dance project about "good old days". In the production of Nostalgiáda, Czech choreographer Karel Vaněk, who has been active in Germany for a long time, together with dancers and choreographers of his generation from Bohemia, Slovakia and Germany, looks back - sometimes through pink glasses - and is looking for what he currently lacks. Do we have to flee to the past to relieve ourselves of the present, or are the good old days going on right now, after which we will desire to look back in ten years?
