Exploring the city through sound 
a workshop by Pavel Niakhayeu (art resident from Belarus)

A creative workshop for a group of maximum 8 young people led by a Belarusian sound/music researcher, electronic musician and audio-visual artist Pavel Niakhayeu (aka Pavel Ambiont / Nieviadomy Artyst). 

After an introductory lecture and a soundwalk, the participants will generate ideas and create their own project (soundscape composition, audio-essay, podcast).

What will you learn:

How can we explore the city through its sounds and rhythms?

What is a soundscape and what elements does it have?

What is a soundwalk?

What is a rhythm analysis?

What can an urban soundscape tell about the city and its people?

How can we tell stories about the city using its sounds?

What is an audio-paper (or essay) and how to make one?

What tools do we need to create an audio story-telling project about your city?
