SEPTEMBER PROGRAM

In the New Synagogue:

Until 10. 9.

exhibition

Ján Gašparovič and Matej Gavula: Exploding Star

At the beginning, still visible and audible exhibition, in which the authors offered the output of a long-term investigation of acoustics, space and stone. Sound as a result of destructive or warning processes, the bases of exotic building marbles and prefabricated industrial containers organized into a spatial composition. The ever-present awareness that we are not safe occasionally throws us into anxiety over the climate crisis, the war in Ukraine, or hate-fueled attacks against people who look or feel differently. The curator of the exhibition is Daniel Grúň.

Tuesday, 12. 9., 7:00 p.m.

Festival Konvergencie: Nezabudnúť / Voices of the Holocaust & Pressburger Klezmer Band (double-concert)

In the first part of the evening, the Slovak premiere of the orchestral adaptation of the music-word cycle „Voices of the Holocaust“ will be performed by Hilaris Chamber Orchestra, soprano Eva Šušková, tenor Matúš Šimek and pianist Haakon Smith. The second part of the evening belongs to the Preßburger Klezmer Band with a new way of interpretating of the traditional klezemer dances and Yiddish songs.

Saturday, 16. 9., 7:00 p.m.

theatre

Depressed children long for money: Trójanky / ТРОЯНКИ / theatre

Performance in Ukrainian with Czech subtitles. Euripides‘ Trojan Women. When, if not today? With whom, if not with Ukrainian women? The stories of the great heroes of the Trojan War have been etched in the memory, the stories of the surviving women are forgotten. What will end when the war ends. And what will begin? And what never will never end? Peace will not necessarily bring peacefulness, a ceasefire will not necessarily bring comfort. Hekaba has lost 50 children, but what if she loses the last one too? What happens next? Revenge tastes like the sweetest borscht.

Sunday, 17. 9., 5:30 p.m.

Again, with this workshop (and the entrance fee from it), you also support us in the year of expensive energy. We thank you!
