Petra Dubach & Mario van Horrik: WAVES VLNY

For this autumn, after playing with material (wood with Juraj Gábor) and lighting conditions (blue twilight with Kristína Kandriková), we decided to play with emptiness, acoustics and sound. Together with dutch artists Petra Dubach and Mario van Horrik, we are preparing a specific exhibition – a space of sounds. During the duration of WAVES VLNY, we are preparing a number of other concerts, sound interventions, commented tours, performances and other meetings. Opened to the public from 4th of October from 1:00 p.m. and from that time always opened from Tuesday to Sunday between 1:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.

Wednesday 9. 11., 5:00 p.m.

And in our minimal sound space, they will insert pieces from their ever-resonating album Zvony (Hevhetia, 2021) live.

He would spend the next 60 years building a church the size of the Sagrada Familia almost unaided and without any knowledge of architecture. Cinema in Stanica: Chiara + short film Grace and discussion with director Ivana Laučíková

We will screen the film Miloště (Kindly) as the second one and with the participation of the director Ivana Laučíková, with whom there will be a discussion about the film and things related to it. The film Chiara is an emotional Italian drama about coming of age and the loss of illusions set in Calabria, a territory with its own rules. Film’s director is Jonas Carpignano, who shined in the Directors‘ Fortnight section at the Cannes festival, empathetically telling the story of a girl who due to circumstances was forced to grow up quickly. All this in the environment of photogenic Calabria, where crime and violence are a common part of life.

The premiere of the film from the ŠtB docuseries: top secret

Persecution of dissent

26’m, director: Braňo Špaček

Invited guests:

Fedor Blaščák, author of the topic and research coordinator ŠtB: Top secret

Jerguš Sivoš, historian, chairman of the Administrative Board of the ÚPN

Jolana Kusá, wife of the dissident Miroslav Kusé

A film about the persecution of civil dissent in Slovakia, which charts the life story of the Marxist philosopher and later dissident, signatory of Charter 77, Miroslav Kusé.

In the fall of 1968, after the Warsaw Pact troops invaded Czechoslovakia, the academic philosopher Miroslav Kusé became the head of the ideological department of the Communist Party. According to his own words, he wanted to „save what he could“, but his mission ended in March 1969. Subsequently, he became one of the first victims of the normalised purges. He is fired from the Communist Party, from his job, and from being a protégé publicist and academic, he becomes a persecuted dissident. In February 1977, as one of a handful of Slovak signatories, he signed Charter 77.

Miroslav Kusý gradually became one of the most watched Slovak dissidents. In May 1981, he was taken into custody for subverting the republic, and this scenario was repeated in August 1989 in connection with the trial of the so-called Bratislava five.

The film brings unique archival findings about the extent of the agency network in Miroslav Kusé’s immediate environment, and it also features unique statements by his wife, daughters and friends.

These three layers of meaning (dance, sound, light) are on stage in constant communication and story-making. They arise from the precise but spontaneous interplay of artists in real time on stage.
