From dawn to dusk – Luděk Rathouský and Richard Loskot

Both artists have already exhibited in the New synagogue. Richard Loskot quite a long time ago at the construction site, at the beginning of our reconstruction, when his clean sheets of paper from the printer in the dome fell to the ground. Luděk Rathouský, on the other hand, three years ago, as a member of the Rafani group, when the theses about irrefutability in the land beyond the horizon were reflected in the lake under the dome. Now their works meet in one space at the exhibition of images and reflections.

About the reconstruction of the New synagogue with Marek Adamov

In January, it is ten years since we first publicly admitted that we are working on the reconstruction and restoration of the New synagogue and that the Centrum cinema will become a „kunsthalle“. We have decided that once in a while we will revive the story of the reconstruction and bring it to light in the form of a lecture or a discussion. In order not to forget how it was and why it was possible. Because it could have turned out quite differently.

Reflect the image! Painting workshop with Katarína Škamlová

Jump into the new year with new inspiration and paint your own picture. During the workshop, we will get to know, experience, reflect and complete together and individually in the exhibition spaces of the New synagogue. And that on big screens! The art workshop is a companion program to the current exhibition and is led by the artist Katarína Škamlová, who lectures our educational activities (With Your Own Eyes).

Echo of the image – Magical Carpathians in the exhibition From dawn to dusk

The originally Polish and now Slovak „ethnocore“ duo Karpaty Magiczne (or The Magic Carpathians) are our friends Anna Nacher and Marek Styczyński. They accompany us through our history from the beginning at the Žilina-Záriečie Station, they played here several times with the band and by themselves, lectured on ethnobotany and accompanied us around Súľovo. After a few years without concerts, we managed to invite them again with music. Sound live the exhibition of Luďek Rathouský’s paintings and Richard Loskot’s reflections in the main hall.

Fandly or A Brief History of Failure

The Houže Theater (an independent theatre for children, youth and adults) is preparing a new production in our attic. The residency culminates with the premiere of a new show on January 7th at 7:00 p.m. The authors of the concept and libretto are Matej Truban and Hana Launerová.

Děda Theatre: Bird’s Day

An inconspicuous game at the oak table turns into a long journey when a heroic story grows out of clothespins and scraps and clusters of words. Three girls, voices, wood and metal. The creative team, inspired by the poem of the Persian mystic and apothecary Faríduddin Attár, processed the old rumour into a minimalist theatrical form independent of the theatre space.
