From dawn to dusk – Luděk Rathouský and Richard Loskot

We are still exhibiting paintings and reflections of two great Czech visual artists, and other new works have been added to them in the corridor, created by the participants of our painting workshops under the guidance of Katarína Škamlová. The gallery and the cafe are always open from Tuesday to Sunday between 1:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. and during planned evening events. Lukáš Bobalík et al.: Light work / dance performance

Thematically, the work follows on from Lukáš’s earlier rather well-known „tennis“ performance Time out, burn out, in which passion and effort meant the inevitability of burnout. The solo is created in close cooperation with the dramaturg Maja Hriešik and the artist Dana Tomečková.

Just like the Christmas Little Market, the Easter Little Market is held under the dome of the New synagogue. The offer will be rich as always. Stop-motion animation workshop for TEACHERS

Under the guidance of lecturer Dušan Dobiaš, teachers will get to know the stop-motion technique and create a short animated film with their own hands. Stabat Mater (concert of the Žilina Conservatory)

In the synagogue, we will welcome the Žilina Conservatory, which at the height of Lent is preparing a program dedicated to Christians of one of the most important Latin music sequences. Stabat Mater (dolorosa) – in translation Stála Matka (painful) – is the first verse of the church hymn describing the pain of Mary under the cross, which in the history of music has seen a large number of musical settings. We will be playing a version by the Italian composer Giovanni Battista Pergolesi.

About Mária Bartuszová (1936–1996) and her exhibition at Tate Modern with Gabriela Garlaty

Mária Bartuszová is one of our most important artists of the 20th century, but her work was discovered and evaluated in an international context only after her death. The curator of the Mária Bartuszová Archive in Košice will come to tell a great story about how last year’s event was born, which you can still see in London until June 25, 2023.

A three-day art symposium where children will learn to animate their own film, create a photo-reconstruction of famous paintings, work with a meotar or try out graphic techniques. Film director Viera Dubačová and producer Lucia Štasselová bring direct testimonies from eastern Ukraine. They are up-to-date and filmed in recent months – glimpses into regions where fighting is still going on and where ordinary people have only faith in God and hope for an end to the war.

Speed dating or quick dates as a format for getting to know new people, potential romantic encounters in a relaxed and safe atmosphere. On the one hand, the desire to rule and own, on the other, the desire to survive and return home. From the powerful to the nameless soldiers in the trenches. Who is the hero and what war is it actually about? The performance is followed by a discussion with the editor of the Historic Revue magazine.
